Silver Lining Royal Mile Mansion

Right in the heart of Old Town on the Royal Mile, with great views and a location that’s hard to beat. The flat is spacious and comfortable, and although it’s on the third floor, there’s a lift. The building feels secure, and the management were friendly and accommodating. You’ll hear traffic because it’s in the town centre. Also, we couldn’t find basic spices like salt and pepper. Still, I’d highly recommend it.

Room 24 was spacious and clean, but that was the only good part. The landlord was in New York and nobody was in charge. We had to go out into the cold to hunt for the key, like some awful puzzle. It was -6°C outside and the room heater didn’t work. We put on our bath towels, coats, and hats, but still couldn’t sleep. The landlord was irresponsible. This was the worst thing that happened on our trip to Edinburgh.

Great spot, within a 10 minute walk of almost all the major sights, including the Palace and castle. The hosts were wonderful. The apartment was clean, roomy, and had everything we needed. It stayed fairly quiet and cool even on the hottest days.

The apartment is beautiful, but very noisy. The fridge caught fire, and the emergency contact didn’t answer when we called. We eventually reached them, but they said they’d check it after we left. The smoke alarm didn’t go off either. We were told they couldn’t find a fault, though they’d replace the fridge as a precaution. Contact from them was very poor.
