The attic room had all the basics I needed as a solo traveller. It was cozy and clean, the wifi worked, and the bottled water and biscuits were a nice touch. Check-in was smooth, and the owners were kind and responsive. Although the guest house is in a quiet area, local shops and restaurants are an easy walk away. There’s a bus stop just outside, and you can walk to the city centre too. I had a great stay and would happily return. Definitely recommend.

Strathallan Guest House was clean, comfortable, and really central for so many great places. We couldn’t fault our stay. A special thank you to the owner, Eamonn, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable and to make the trip memorable. We’d spent a year planning our journey to Scotland from Australia, and it was a pleasure to finally meet him. We’ve never had such genuine, personal service. Lovely place, and the location worked well for us, right opposite the bus stop to the centre. There’s no breakfast, but they leave coffee, tea, and some good cookies in the room.

A lovely room, and I slept really well. They cleaned it for us between nights, and there was a nice range of coffee and tea, plus a good TV. It’s well located and walkable to the city centre. All in all, a great stay.

It takes a bit of walking to get there, but the quieter setting makes it worth it, away from the bustle of Edinburgh’s tourist areas. The place was nice and clean, with a lovely Edinburgh feel.
