It's ideal for Ely, less than ten minutes by car or about a 30 minute walk. The Minster is £14 for adult entry, and I spotted Cromwell House on the way back to the car. There's also town to mooch around, with plenty of coffee shops and places to eat. On Saturday there was a small market, and the High Street was closed to cars from 10am to 4pm, for pedestrians only. Parking in town is free but limited to two hours. There are a Burger King and M&S on site, plus a very good Chinese takeaway in town. I arrived late in the afternoon on a very cold day, mostly to have a reconnaissance trip. I got to the Travelodge early and had to check I was in the right place. The staff were cleaning, but they made sure I was okay and checked my booking. I was let in at around 3pm. The room was clean, the bathroom well maintained, and it had the usual amenities, including charger points by the night stand. Parking was free, and WiFi was free for 30 minutes a day. I slept very comfortably and it was really warm, so I actually turned the heating off.

The rooms are comfortable, the staff are good, and it's quiet. Ely is not far away by cab. My only grouse is that the disabled friendly rooms have showers over a reduced height bath. One of the best of its kind.

Rooms and location were fine, though the car park was a bit tight. There's a garage and shop, with a Burger King right next to it. The staff are fantastic. I think Lisa was on reception, hats off to her for checking everyone in so quickly and helpfully!

There's a lot on site, including a garage, Burger King, Costa coffee, and M&S. Ely is a short walk, about 20 minutes, or a short drive, and parking in Ely is free. The hotel was easy to find and all on one level. The receptionist gave us a happy welcome and clear instructions. We got a key for the room and a fob to enter the hotel after 10pm through a security door, which made me feel safe. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The bathroom was small but functional. There were lights around the bed, no bedside table, but alcoves with room for a cup, phone, and book. There were no beakers in the bathroom.

The room was very clean and the staff polite, though there was a bit of a funny smell in the corridor. It's very convenient for the A141/142 and for getting to Cambridge and Ely. It's a longer walk into Ely, but doable.
