Kingsford Farm Lodges

We make a Christmas trip every year, and this is easily the best lodge we've stayed in. We liked it enough to book again for next Christmas already!

If you want somewhere quiet to get away, Kingsford Farm Lodges fits the bill. The four proper log cabins sit on generous plots, and the only sounds we heard were wildlife and cows next to the site. We were happy with the stay for what we paid, though there were a few letdowns inside. The cabin was clean and comfortable, but the sofa and chair had stains, the baking trays were worn out, and the toilet roll holder was rusty. The hot tub was nice, though some jets sent out cold water and it didn't seem to work fully. The tumble dryer showed fault code E13 and wouldn't run. The main bedroom bedding smelled bad; the host replaced it, which helped but didn't get rid of the smell entirely. Getting there takes patience: the last two miles are on a narrow single-track road with few passing places and plenty of potholes.

We stayed in lodge number 3 and enjoyed seeing ducks and other wildlife nearby. Exeter centre is about 15-20 minutes away, handy if you fancy a day out. The lodge was really cozy, with lovely views and a great hot tub. Brilliant stay, we'd definitely recommend it and come back!

We had a lovely time in the lodge, though it could use a bit of care and attention. The drive along the lanes to the farm was rough too, with narrow roads and plenty of potholes that need fixing.
