Padbrook Park Hotel

The triple-cooked chips are the best I’ve ever had. We stopped for lunch on Tuesday, enjoyed the food, and came back for Sunday lunch today. I had pork and my wife had beef; both were excellent and there was plenty of meat. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Definitely worth dropping in anytime. 👍🏻😊

I found the prices incredibly high, and the problems were unacceptable. The restaurant was freezing, and so were the room and bedding, so I had to leave the heater on full all night. The evening meal was reheated stroganoff from a packet, with mashed potato crusted on the bottom. It was disgusting and inedible. At breakfast, almost everything in the full English had been reheated apart from the fried egg. The bacon was totally solid and inedible. The red wine tasted like vinegar and was freezing cold, as was the glass. I had many other, smaller complaints and am seeking a full refund.

It’s a good value place to stay, with large rooms and bathrooms and good beds. The hotel sits in a park setting a little outside the village, so it’s quiet, and there’s plenty of free parking around it. Check-in service was good, and when we asked for a plate to eat the dinner food we’d bought in the village, they helped us out. I’d recommend staying here.

Sarah Buckley made our wedding day truly special. She was kind and funny, and in the lead-up we had several meetings to go over everything. On the day, she had the staff organised so well that I never had to ask for anything to be done or changed. Sarah is a real asset to Padbrook, and I hope she stays there for a very long time. We had our wedding at Padbrook Park Hotel and couldn’t recommend the hotel and staff more. Several people complimented the food at our wedding breakfast, and the next morning’s breakfast was such good quality, with fresh produce. The facilities were fantastic, including very clean bedrooms. We’ll be back soon for the beef roast we had at our wedding breakfast. Thank you again, Sarah. Our day wouldn’t have been the same without you.
