The Lismoyne Hotel

The service was poor, and getting the bill sorted took about three tries. They guessed which of us had kids and put everything on the bill of someone who didn't have them, without asking whether we wanted to split it. I had to go to reception twice, once for more drinks and again for the bill. They need training in table service. I'm not a picky person, but the whole experience stunned me, and I wouldn't return. I booked afternoon tea for a small gathering to mark the end of my pregnancy, and honestly didn't rate it. At the start, we had to send the cups back because they were all dirty, and the cutlery wasn't polished. The sandwiches were made with Hovis bread with the crusts cut off. Their odd fillings were just a sliver of cucumber or a sliver of ham, with nothing else inside. I expected more salmon, better ingredients and better bread. One cake was nice, but the Victoria sponge was dry and stale, and the scones were like rock cakes. We were never offered more tea or water, or asked if everything was okay. By the end, the table was so full we asked for it to be cleared so we could finish our tea and chat. The server said, “we will clear it when you’re gone.” We looked at each other, confused. That's not how table service works, and all the food left on the table made us uncomfortable.

A lovely, quiet countryside hotel with a beautiful garden. The staff were so kind, especially Harrison and Juliana. The chef pawel was lovely too and kindly brought us extra brownies. We had a wonderful experience.

Our wedding reception in the conservatory went really well. Michelle and the team did a great job on the day. They had the room set up just right, and Flowers by Becky was a great recommendation. The prosecco reception and meal ran to plan, then the staff rearranged the space smoothly for the evening. The evening buffet was lovely, the bar always had enough staff, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was pleasant too. I don't think we could have had a better day. Thanks to all of you!

I'm from France, and this was my first time in the UK. I came to Fleet for a friend's wedding at the nearby Elvetham Hotel. The Lismoyne hotel was the second choice recommended for accommodation, and I decided to stay the whole week after the wedding. It's quiet and relaxed here, with bars, restaurants and a shopping center all within walking distance. Fleet train station is 20 minutes away, and you can take the train to London, for example. My room was nice and had everything I needed. A tip for anyone coming from Europe: bring a UK adapter, as the plugs are different. I learned that the hard way.
