Wavecrest Lodge

Breakfast was excellent, and the location is hard to beat, just across from the promenade with good views from the room. The room was very clean and basic, with an en suite, but it was cold. The radiator was turned all the way up and still only lukewarm, leaving both the room and bathroom chilly. After I mentioned it at checkout, the manager said someone must have turned the valve down. Surely you’d need a tool for that, and why turn down the valve instead of the thermostat? He said the heating ran from 16:30 to 21:30. I came back from a party to a freezing room, and it was -1 overnight. I wasn’t happy. There’s no reception or dining area here either, so you have to go five doors down to The Savoy for those.

Wavecrest was very clean, and our last available room, room 10, had everything needed despite being tiny. It’s on the top floor, with windows but no view. The price was very low, so you get what you pay for. There’s no food at Wavecrest, though plenty of decent places to eat nearby. The sister hotel, the Savoy, looks splendid.

They upgraded us to the Seaview room when we arrived, and the views were gorgeous. The room was spotless, with a huge, comfortable bed. We had a lovely stay and would come back :)

I was in Fleetwood for a course at Fleetwood Nautical College and stayed at Wavecrest Hotel. Breakfast was served at Savoy Hotel, five doors down. Both hotels are really good, with lush living rooms, and breakfast is hearty. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. It’s also good to know that they offer mariners doing their mates/masters/seconds/chiefs tickets at the natural college a deal on a six-week basis.
