Sand Gate

My best friend died three days after we visited, at William Harvey Hostipital. He had cancer, but had still managed to climb the steps to the entrance. We’d wanted for years to stop by this hotel for a beer or two because we’d seen it on Ramseys Kitchen Knight mares. The show had been filmed back in 2006, and when we finally went in 2023, we weren’t there to critique it. I asked if we could get a drink and explained why we’d come. My friend paused for breath and said he only wanted a drink. We were told we couldn’t have one unless we were eating, so we left without making a fuss and went to Folkestone harbour for seafood and a drink at the pub there. I wish the staff member or owner had welcomed us in. The response felt uncaring, and I wouldn’t recommend the place.
