We left and found somewhere else to stay because the place was so dirty and nobody seemed available to help. The toilet was disgusting, the floors were filthy, and there was a stale, musty smell throughout. The bedding had wet ring marks, as if it had been turned over after an accident, and the curtains were marked too. No one was around to bring fresh bedding or move us to another room. The ceiling and bathroom had cracks that made me worry the building could be unsafe. Getting in was a nightmare too. The door was locked, all the lights were off, and no one was there to check us in. We waited nearly an hour while the phone lines stayed engaged. When we finally got inside, the woman seemed annoyed and dismissive, as though we were in the way. The rooms are badly outdated and need a serious refurbishment. It felt bleak and deserted, like being in a horror movie while looking for someone to help. I’ve never stayed anywhere this bad and will never return. Save your money. This place needs new owners or to be shut down. And if you do manage to get in, I wouldn’t count on anyone being there to serve food.

The location was the one good thing about my three-night stay. The room was very warm, and there was no fan available. The toilet didn’t work properly, and neither did the window blinds. Reception was closed almost all day, and nobody came to do housekeeping while I was there. Not worth the money.

We found the bedroom okay, though a bit shabby, but the bathroom needed a proper clean and there was hardly any toilet paper. Reception was unmanned, and there was barely anything available at the bar. In the morning we couldn’t get into the lounge or other areas, and there was no one around. Wouldn’t stay again.

After watching 4 in a bed, I wouldn’t stay here even for free. The couple came across as disgusting and vindictive, playing pathetic games. They shouldn’t be allowed to run a hotel and should be struck off.

We’re cycling along much of England’s south coast, and finding somewhere willing to take our bikes can be difficult. Our host was incredibly kind and hardworking. He let us bring the bikes inside to keep them safe and also pointed us towards some decent food. We paid £76 for a twin room with breakfast, which was hearty. It’s a great spot if you’re riding the south coast, and we couldn’t have asked for more.
