The evening tasting menu was a real highlight of our birthday weekend. We started with a locally sourced gin and tonic in the cosy snug, then enjoyed beautifully presented courses that all tasted amazing. The Yorkshire rhubarb crumble came with a birthday candle, and it was lovely to meet chef Michael when he came out for a chat afterward. We were welcomed with tea and Lucinda’s delicious cake, then bel helped us with our bags to the pleasant room, which had the walk in shower we’d requested. Breakfast was well cooked, nicely presented, and offered a wide choice, all served with a smile. From the welcome to the end of the stay, it was just what we needed. Thanks to Lucinda, Andrew and Chef Michael for a fabulous weekend. We’ll be back soon.

Breakfast is always a treat at Orchard Lodge. The cooked food is tasty, and the fresh fruit is the best I’ve had at a hotel. Andrew and Lucinda also check each morning whether everyone slept well and what they have planned, then offer useful travel advice. It’s a thoughtful touch and shows how much pride and professionalism they bring to running the place. We’ve stayed with them many times and have just returned from another visit. The rooms are spacious and spotless, and there’s always such a warm welcome. They run the place so well, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Thank you!

Andrew and Lucinda are lovely hosts, and chef Michael has put together another brilliant Yuletide menu. The winter feast was such a special experience and a lovely way to begin Christmas. We’re all looking forward to returning soon.

Andrew and Lucinda made a lovely setting for our afternoon tea after we got married last Tuesday. They decorated the summerhouse with flowers, which brought the wedding theme together beautifully. It was just the two of us, exactly what we wanted. The food was excellent, and we left full and happy. We’d recommend it!

The owners put a lot into giving guests a great experience, with good old fashioned service. We had an amazing dinner here last night: the chef is extremely talented, and the locally sourced ingredients were perfectly presented and tasted exceptional. BRAVO, we’ll definitely visit again.
