Apartment 5 York

The location was a plus, but the stay was miserable. The place felt cheap and tacky, and there was old food in the freezer, outdated sauces and condiments in the cupboards, and rubbish under the sink. The freezer door was hard to shut, and the bathroom door was difficult to open from inside. The windows were single-glazed, the bathroom drains smelled disgusting, and we had only one and a half toilet rolls. Why leave half a roll? There were old washing-up liquids and soaps from previous guests, too. Complimentary milk had gone off, and the biscuits were six weeks past their date. We had the same towels for all six days, rubbish piled up, and we ended up using the shops' bins round the side. There weren't even any side plates. This could be a great place if the owner spent some money on it and added a few nice touches. As it stands, it felt like he was taking advantage of tourists, charging £100 a night at the end of September while also adding service and cleaning charges. I didn't enjoy the experience.
