The food is what keeps me coming back. I've eaten here maybe 10 times, and each visit the curry has been the freshest and tastiest for hundreds of miles. You can smell them preparing fresh ingredients during the day. It's hands down the best curry I know of in the UK, after eating up and down Brick Lane and trying curries across the country. Whenever I'm in Gloucestershire or Monmouthshire, I make a point of visiting. The curry is traditional, friendly, welcoming and incredibly tasty. Top marks, and I'd highly recommend it. The rooms are clean and cheerful, the food and service are world class, and the whole team are a delight who look after you with sincere care. But the five stars really are for the amazingly high quality food. I've tried to take a photo each time, but somehow the dish always seems to be empty!

Liked: Good location, plenty of parking, and proper teabags in the tearoom. I don't know where to begin with the rest. We stayed two nights, and the first impression was awful. The outside looked tired and nothing like the photos. Staff just handed us a key without any directions until I asked. The walk to the room was messy, with dated decor and storage boxes scattered around. The room was basic, with no safe, mini fridge, slippers, robes, lamps or air conditioning. In summer the heat made it awful to sleep. The bed and pillows were very hard and felt cheap, so the two nights were uncomfortable. Worse was the state of the room: mould on the walls, rust and mould all over the bathroom tiles, walls and taps, a broken toilet flush, and broken clothes hooks. The whole place felt disgusting and like it was falling apart. We had to stay because we were there for a wedding, but for a holiday we would have left. We ate in the restaurant the first night. The food was very bland, the naan seemed undercooked, and the tables were so sticky the cutlery stuck to them. Again, there was no basic hospitality. The staff didn't seem to want to be there, and it was all very expensive. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered on arrival and was basic, with one of each item in an English breakfast and tea or coffee. The morning staff came across as rather rude. We didn't have breakfast the second morning, though for some reason it wasn't offered to us anyway. I can't give more than one star. For the price, this was the worst place I've ever stayed. It felt like a grubby roadside motel that shouldn't cost more than around 25 per night. I can't believe it's still operating, and I don't believe most of the reviews are real. There seems no way they could be.

The food was stunning, hot, fresh, tasty and delicious, and so moreish. I wish they were near me! I'll definitely visit The Woolaston Inn again when I'm in the area. Highly recommend it.

Really tasty food across the board, served with a friendly touch in a family setting that clearly takes pride in what it does. A real asset to the community.
