White Hart Inn

The staff were nice, but my stay was awful. Check-in took far too long, and the first room was right on the main road, so sleeping was impossible. There were spider webs around the room and the shower didn't work. I pushed to be moved, and they eventually did, but problems carried on. Then breakfast was left in a Tesco bag in the wrong room, the first one, so I had to go and fetch it myself. Completely unacceptable.

The Sunday roast comes in one, two or three courses, and be prepared for generous portions if you go for three. Every dish was substantial and delicious, from the appetisers through to dessert, each one enough to be a meal by itself. We were greeted warmly, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd happily visit again and again.

The people in the locals bar were friendly and funny when I popped in for a drink. I didn't expect the restaurant area and toilets to be so smart, especially since the decor elsewhere felt a bit tired. There wasn't any real ale, though. We'll come back next time we're in Gloucestershire.

Big portions and really good food, so there's no need to order extra chips. The staff were welcoming and friendly too. I'd happily visit this pub again.
