Loch Ness Highland Resort

The location is excellent, but the site felt soulless and unfinished, and the stay was a negative experience. Our pod was extremely small for four, even though I’d booked for a family of four and included my children’s ages. Unless the children are very young, it doesn’t seem big enough for a family. The floor was very dirty, so we had to ask for a dustpan and brush and clean it ourselves. For four people on a four-night break, we were given just one toilet roll. I asked for another at around 8:15 and was told I’d have to wait because staff didn’t start until 9. The staff were rude and unhelpful. The onsite restaurant was closed for two of the three full days we were there.

It’s okay for a stopover, with plenty of space and its own restaurant and bar. The welcome was friendly, and it’s a good spot for stargazing within walking distance of the town centre. The shower cubicles are tiny, though, and seem designed for a short, petite person. The washing-up area could use better lighting, and driving over the sharp gravel was bad for the tyres. Still, I’d recommend it.

Booked at the last minute and found an amazing spot. The staff were really friendly, and the micro pod was just right. It was clean, with a great shower and a comfortable bed. And those views!

The hot tub has no privacy. It sits right below the neighbouring 'lodge' bathroom window, which would be open because the ventilation is so poor. The place was filthy, dated and in bad repair, despite costing over £1000 a week. I vacuumed what felt like half a dog out of the carpet, and the sofas were gross and collapsed. There are plenty of other places along the loch.
