The host was shockingly rude. After a small incident with the curtains, he threatened to throw us out and wouldn't accept my sincere apology. The room also seemed neglected, with hair and dust everywhere and a carpet so dirty I couldn't bear to inspect it closely. It looked as though it hadn't been properly cleaned for a long time. I had to give a breakfast time, but it arrived at 8am anyway on a dirty tray. The fruit was poor quality, barely edible, and there was hair on the plate. This place is wildly overrated and overpriced. I know it's a tourist-heavy area where higher prices are expected, but what we got was a truly unpleasant experience. I deeply regret not looking at reviews elsewhere before booking, instead of being misled by the inflated Booking.com rating. For an idea of the host's attitude, read the replies they've posted to negative reviews on Booking.com. It's astonishing that this place is still in the hospitality business. Don't try it if you don't want your Fort William experience ruined. Avoid this place at all cost!

John is a wonderful host, and we're glad we can call him a friend now. We've stayed in both the main house and the glamping pods outside over the years, and love both. The service, price, location, and attention to detail are all fantastic, with everything taken care of. It's a gem of a place in the beautiful Highland town of Fort William, near Ben nevis ⛰️. If you're visiting the Highlands of Scotland and want to experience some of the culture, it's a wonderful place to stay. Thanks for everything.

He told me I couldn't stay because the storm had left them without electricity, Wi-Fi, or water, and said I should leave and try nearby hotels. When I asked if I was meant to sleep in my car in a storm, he just shrugged. I was left walking along a road in dangerous conditions, with trees falling, because they wouldn't accommodate me. I understand a storm can affect a property, but they should have told me in advance by phone, message, or email so I could find somewhere safe. They didn't communicate, and that put me at serious risk. I arrived at the correct address, but he first said I was in the wrong place. He then somehow made it sound as if the storm was my fault, or as if I shouldn't have travelled, when I had no way to change my plans. He was extremely rude. I arrived exactly at the correct check-in time with a confirmed reservation that neither party had cancelled. He had no right to eject me and keep my money. That is contrary to the law. I expect he'll respond as though he's fully justified, as he's done with many other guests who've complained about his rudeness. I wish I'd read those negative reviews before booking. There's no excuse for treating people disrespectfully, and this seems to be a recurring behavior with these hosts.

Both mornings we had fresh continental breakfast in bed. They brought it in, and we did the rest. John and Adrian also let us charge our EV at no cost, so we could leave with a full charge. They looked after us so well, shared the best information, and gave us the most thorough explanation of the facilities I've had anywhere. This is the best B&B I've ever stayed at, and a must stay if circumstances allow. I'd revisit. Thank you both for making us feel so welcome.

The whole apartment had such a cosy feel, and the rooms were really nice. We had a fantastic time, thanks in large part to John's excellent hospitality. We'd definitely consider coming back.
