Arriving after 10pm by train was no issue; the night porter got us checked in smoothly. Our room was quiet, cosy, and nicely decorated, with plenty of sockets, a good kettle, and room for our dogs. The shower had lots of space and good pressure, but the controls were stiff and hard to set to the right temperature. Some of the pump bottles didn't work either.

Our first-floor corner room at Lime Tree Hotel had a gorgeous loch view. The four-poster bed was wonderfully comfortable, the bathroom was large, and the room had all the comforts we wanted. A beautiful stay.

We used to think this was a great place, but this stay was a letdown. Room 5's bedroom was nicely decorated, though the bathroom was in poor shape, with mould around the bath, peeling paint, and damp windows. The whole hotel feels a bit shabby now. Breakfast disappointed too. For a place associated with a top-end restaurant, the ingredients seemed cheap and the quality didn't seem to matter. It used to be amazing, but there are many better options these days.

We found the Lime Tree Hotel stylishly renovated and very well located, with shops and restaurants an easy walk away. It's a historic building, and our newly renovated room was spacious, modern, and well soundproofed, with USB-C charging ports. The wooden bed frame did creak quite a bit. Breakfast was straightforward, with the option of freshly cooked dishes that were delicious. Private parking is a real plus in Fort William, and the service was friendly. I'd happily stay again.

We stayed in the two-bedroom apartment at the rear of the hotel. It was warm and cosy, just what we needed after a day on the slopes.
