Safe Harbour Inn

Rooms 8 and 9 in the annex were spacious, lovely and well equipped, with beautiful harbour views. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of choice, served in a breakfast room overlooking the harbour. Gill and the team were welcoming, went above and beyond, and were happy to help with anything. Safe Harbour is excellently located, only a two-minute walk from central Fowey. We can’t wait to return, and I’d highly recommend it.

After a full day of walking, I’d often stop in here for the evening during my seven days in Fowey, usually with my little old dog. I already miss the warm welcome and the smiling bar staff. I wish I’d got to know them better and asked loads more about the area. I’ll be back, hopefully before long.

The owners were exemplary and made everyone feel welcome. Breakfast was wonderful, with a broad choice, and the hotel is well situated. Getting to Fowey town takes about five minutes downhill and ten minutes back up, so you need to be fit. The hotel itself is perhaps a little tired, but you get what you pay for and we had no complaints.

The staff were really friendly, kind and fun, and the pub was great. My room was clean and I was lucky to get a view. Tea in the room was a nice touch. The bathroom was on the small side but fine. The stairs are steep and quite hard to climb, so they may not suit someone very overweight or with leg problems. The location is good. All in all, just fine. Thanks.
