Nice accommodation for groups, and there’s a hot tub. The showers in the main bedrooms are tricky to use, and the road in has lots of big potholes.

A great spot for a weekend with ten people. The kitchen is really sociable, the beds are very comfortable, and almost all of us could fit in the hot tub.

We booked the Hideaway Barn for our annual weekend away, four couples looking for a relaxing break, and it was a real letdown. There was a pile of dog mess behind my car when I arrived, even though the place didn’t allow pets. Inside, it was freezing. We tried the wood burner, but the kindling was wet and the door seal was missing. Each time we lit it, smoke filled a large part of downstairs, smelled awful and left our clothes stinking. Cleanliness was poor too: thick grease on the extractor hood, old confetti and dust around, plus a filthy greasy oven and badly rusted roasting trays. We had to buy disposable ones for our roast. One en suite had no water in the bath or shower. I called Amy, who texted that it was being dealt with. Eventually we got bath water, but the shower head was broken. A bedroom had no TV remote, the Bose sound system was disconnected and we had to fix it, and the fridge was cracked and not very clean. We can only assume the cleaners left two dirty mugs in the sink for us to wash before making tea. The visitors’ book said Amy was helpful, but we didn’t see her all weekend, despite the water issue. This was far below what we expected. Choose carefully.

Heaven on earth, pure luxury and a hot tub. Absolutely fantastic.
