Communication with the landlord was poor from start to finish. The outdoor areas were a mess, and the area wasn’t good. Neighbours kept cooking fish, and the smell came into our room. The fire alarm kept going off even though nobody was smoking or cooking. When I contacted the landlord, their advice was to remove the alarms, which was especially concerning on the top floor.

The flat itself was spacious, very clean, and nicely refurbished, so it could suit someone who doesn’t mind the exterior. We weren’t comfortable with the rundown neighbourhood or the rubbish along the path, and the building looked untidy too. It wasn’t the setting we wanted for a family city break, so we left and found somewhere else to stay that night.
