We had a lovely, peaceful two-night stay at Holt Barn, next to River house. RSPB Ham Wall and Westhay nature reserve were nearby, and Glastonbury was no more than ten minutes away. Highly recommend.

A wonderful, peaceful place, calm and serene, in a beautiful spot by the river.

It felt like Avalon, with the pub nearby and a walk back through a landscape said to be full of spiritual energy, where you might even speak to fairies or trolls. The holiday home itself sits right on the River Brue and is tastefully furnished, with wonderful views over the Somerset Levels. From the bedroom, floor-to-ceiling windows look down at shoals of fish swimming in the clear river below. We rarely find this much peace and quiet in a home surrounded by such tranquil scenery. Our dog had lots of room to run in the wide fields. Next door is an old monastic fisherman's cottage, once Glatonbury Abbey's fishing center when the pastures were a large lake.
