Market House

We stopped in for lunch while visiting Glastonbury. The food came quickly, tasted good, and the portions were generous for the price. Staff were helpful and friendly. Seems like a good pub, so we’ll visit again next time we’re nearby.

We booked three rooms for 19th nov. They were lovely, with wow-worthy views, and the pub was clean, the food excellent and the staff really nice. Definitely coming back! I had room6, which was lovely, with a separate private bathroom, though I wouldn’t normally book one like that. A few things could make it better: bottled water in the room for the kettle, towels in the bathroom, and maybe a lock on the outside of the bathroom door. I didn’t feel I could leave my things in there. We only stayed one night, so it wasn’t a big issue, but it could improve the stay for others. 5⭐👍

Chris the Manager is delightful and went way above and beyond to help us, as did all the staff. Our room was spotless and delightful, with fantastic views of the Abbey and the Tor. The food was lovely, and the Thursday Open Mic was a real treat, with some fantastic musicians. We had a fabulous stay and would definitely come again. Highly recommend this great place to stay in Glastonbury!

I had the chicken feast for lunch. The meat was very tender, and the fried coating had a nice moderate thickness that made it crisp. The spicy sauce tasted unusual in a good way. If I’m remembering right, it might have been gravy mixed with Cajun seasoning. The lobby was spotless, and all the windows brought in lovely natural light during the day, especially on a sunny day. I did wonder if the kitchen was short on supplies: the steak I ordered was out of stock, and they said the chef was at the butcher’s buying more. There weren’t many diners at the time, and it didn’t look as if there had just been a rush.
