Dinner was delicious and there was plenty of it. I had hunter’s chicken with chunky chips and salad, then a homemade fruit crumble that was excellent in both quality and flavour. I definitely recommend it. I’m glad the owners have changed too. The previous ones weren’t very pleasant.

I was looking for a good bar in Glastonbury, and I’ve found it. The staff are great and there’s a good choice of beers, but the chef really made the visit. A couple of German/Italian women came in for steaks, and he came out to explain that he didn’t have fresh mushrooms to serve with them. He walked them through the options and brought over a mix of vegetables and some deep-fried frozen mushrooms. It was a real lesson in good service, and he was the sweetest fellow. Hats off to my man. I’m coming back tomorrow instead of going into Street. Five stars.

The location is nice, but I can’t recommend the Sunday roast. I’ve been a couple of times, and both the beef and lamb seemed to have been killed twice, first at the abattoir and then by the chefs. The vegetables were a mixed bag, some good and some bad.

Such a pleasant surprise. The staff were lovely, and there were local ciders on tap. My freshly cooked pie was packed with meat, and came with lots of fresh vegetables and delicious gravy. The food was amazing!
