Premier Inn Gloucester - Barnwood

The rooms were lovely, clean, and quiet, and the staff were great, friendly and helpful. I marked down the location because there was a skip at the side, an old mattress on the ground, and lots of rubbish around.

We stayed overnight at both ends of our holiday on the south coast. The room was excellent and breakfast was great, though prices have gone up quite noticeably in the last year. A special mention for receptionist Emma, who's superb at everything.

The hotel is a typical PI, and the meal at the pub next door was great. My experience with the service was poor: I had to return to reception three times because my key card didn't work. It turned out the card wasn't for the room they'd sent me to. The lift was out of order too. Not great. Still, it was clean enough and generally adequate.

Our room was nice and clean, but breakfast today was disappointing. The food was okay, though when I'd taken the last tomato, my sister asked for more and the chef waved his arms and shouted, “we’re out”. He was very rude. We also switched off one of the several fans because I react to them. After I explained why, the chef rudely shouted, “go and sit down there at the other end then”. Very disappointing!!!
