We went to the pub on 31/5/26 for drinks, and the young woman behind the bar was lovely. We wanted food and waited half an hour for it to start, which was fair enough. There were four of us and two dogs. Our dog is usually well behaved, but started barking at another dog. A long blonde-haired woman came over and spoke to us like we were five-year-olds, saying we'd have to leave if the dog didn't quiet down. That's fair enough, but it was the way she spoke to us. We all ordered steak and ale pie with chips and gravy. The pie was quite nice, though a little salty, but the chips were dry and the gravy tasteless. At £19.50 per serving, we were disgusted, especially as there weren't even any vegetables. We won't go back or recommend it. Another unhappy customer we spoke with had a similar experience and was especially upset about the price and service. They are definitely living off the ghost of Hearbeat.

It's disgusting how often this place is closed, disappointing Heartbeat fans who travel miles to see the famous pub. I stood outside today and heard most of the visitors expressing shock that it was shut. There were people at the back of the pub, so it makes no sense that visitors weren't allowed in. The owners should be ashamed.

We dropped into this quaint pub because of its part in the TV programme Heartbeat. On 24th January, the long blonde-haired woman serving us seemed to have a problem with us as customers. It felt like she wanted to relax with her friends round the corner instead of serving people who'd come in for a drink or two. She seemed more interested in chatting than serving, which I found concerning. Because of her attitude towards people, we won't be coming back, which is a shame. Without her, the place could have been quite nice. I hope other visitors have a better experience with her than we did.

We'd hoped for a pleasant holiday visit, but were really disappointed with The Gothland Hotel. The service felt unfriendly, and staff spoke in almost sarcastic tones, which made us feel unwelcome. Every drink we ordered, soft or alcoholic, was completely flat. Sadly, we wouldn't choose to come back. It could have been much better.

The drinks were warm and the food was cold when the staff served us. When I mentioned it, they were incredibly rude and acted as if they didn't care about their customers' wellbeing. They were also really dismissive towards me and my family. I wouldn't go back!
