We had a nice couple of days here, and Karen was a lovely host who was happy to help with anything. Our room, number 2, was a good size, as was the bathroom, and Karen and Pete made us feel welcome. She doesn’t do breakfast as such, but her breakfast sandwiches are great. Hopefully we’ll get back soon. Thank you, Karen and Pete.

We booked based on other guests’ ratings and the location, about a 12-minute walk from my brother’s house where we spent Christmas Day. The landlady was friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean and well equipped, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was brought to our door. A couple of things to consider: if you can choose, check which room has the biggest ensuite. And if you like it very dark, you might want to bring your own blackout curtains.

Karen gave us the passcode and key so we could let ourselves in while she was visiting her 90-year-old mother. She was completely trustworthy and a perfect hostess. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was top-notch. It was the cheapest place we stayed on our south coast tour, with no drop in service quality. Lovely place!

As a solo traveller, I felt safe here. Karen was very friendly when I contacted her directly through the website, which made things simpler. It’s close to the beach, with several restaurants within walking distance. I also walked about 20 minutes along the ocean to a fabulous shoe shop called The Shoe Deck. My room and bathroom were very clean and had a TV, wifi, coffee maker, and supplies. Breakfast was served in the room, which I loved, and I thought it was excellent value for the money.
