That shepherd's pie was the best I've ever had, and somehow even beat my granny's. We also started with a really good carrot soup, just the kind of hearty meal I wanted on a cold, wet day. We'd come to The Lamb in Rissington after a friend recommended it. Amy was a star, friendly and full of great crack, and she knew loads about the local area. The whole team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The pub was warm and cosy while the rain came down outside. I was surprised to hear they have rooms too, and after such a lovely afternoon I'm already thinking about staying next time. We will definitely be back.

Rob, the assistant manager, looked after our lunch and kept things easy with some friendly chat, checking that everything was all right. The food was top notch and the portions were just right. It’s a quiet spot in a Cotswolds stone village, with a warm, welcoming feel. I came with a friend and we’ll be back. Thank you.

We only spotted the sign while trying to get around the gas main works in Stow on the Wold, and ended up finding a wonderful little village pub. The portions were generous, the food tasty and excellent value for money. Even though we got there a bit late in the lunch service, the welcoming staff never made us feel hurried. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely return for more of the food.

We stayed for one night in a room in the main pub building. It was cute, in great condition and extremely comfortable, just as I expected from the website photos. The pub itself has a cosy, welcoming look, and both the staff and other guests were friendly and kind. The food was delicious too. I had a lovely experience and would highly recommend it for a meal or a stay in the Cotswolds.

Our dinner was the best meal of the trip. The young chef, a 29 year old co-owner of The Lamb Inn, certainly lived up to what we'd heard, serving us a sophisticated meal. At check in, Amy, the excellent manager, and the young front of house team were charming, friendly and very helpful. Our room was on the smaller side, as you might expect in a 400 year old building, but it had been renovated to a top notch standard. The outdoor gardens were lush and spacious, and the pub and adjoining dining room seemed to draw a nice mix of locals and travelers. We hope to come back.
