Kings Head Usk

I enjoyed a few meals and drinks with my family in the pub, both on this trip and earlier visits. It has great food and a lovely atmosphere. When I stayed at The Kings Head while visiting family in Usk, my room was spacious and had a kettle, coffee maker, everything needed for tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and Welshcakes as a treat. The bed and cosy duvet were comfortable. The bathroom was bright and clean, and the shower always had hot water. Breakfast had plenty of choices and was cooked very well. Service was consistently friendly and courteous. Thanks to everyone who made me feel welcome.

The bar had such a warm, cosy feel, quite different from places like it back home in the US, and we loved the atmosphere. The food was very good too, as was the hot chocolate. We also found the people of Usk very friendly. My mother and I stayed three nights in mid-October. The hotel and its amenities were comfortable and clean. I only wish I'd brought my own pillow, since theirs felt high and very firm. Adam, the owner, was charming and cordial, and the other people we met were just as pleasant. Thanks, Adam and team!

My family threw me a wonderful birthday party at The Kungs Head on 7th February 2026. Adam and his staff stayed on hand throughout the evening, and he worked with my lovely family on the music, films and decorations. The close attention and help they gave us before and during the event made it a huge success and such good fun.

I liked having a Nespresso machine in the room, which was clean, modern and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, and breakfast was delicious. We were staying at the Kings head to visit family in Usk, and I'd happily recommend it and return. My pillow was too high for comfortable sleeping, so a couple of flatter ones would be a nice addition. More coat hooks in both the room and bathroom would help too.
