The access codes often didn’t work properly, and the fire alarm seemed to go off regularly, which was really disruptive. There were several very loud guests around the hotel, so relaxing was hard. I was hot in the room, the small fan rattled, and there was no air con. The cleaning staff were rude and unfriendly, and the room itself wasn’t very clean, with dust and dirt visible in several places. The shower’s hot water only lasted about 10 minutes before turning cold. Honestly, I was disappointed and wouldn’t stay here again.
The space is used really cleverly, and the kitchen was well equipped. The shower and bathroom were great, the bed was comfortable with a great mattress, and I slept like a log. Everything was immaculately clean. I liked the little extras too, like the pulse point sleep scent, White Company toiletries and Taylor coffee bags instead of the usual Nescafe instant packets. Those details made a difference. It felt like a home from home, and was very impressive for a reasonable price. This will be our go-to place next time we visit Harrogate. Highly recommended 👌
The location is excellent, right in the centre of Harrogate, and the room and ensuite were nicer than most staffed hotels I’ve stayed in. It was nicely decorated, with good temperature control. Having a kitchenette meant I could buy microwave meals and breakfast instead of having to eat out, which saved even more money. It’s an unmanned hotel, which keeps the cost down and suits me perfectly. The instructions were clear and getting in was straightforward. There’s a mobile number if anything comes up, and they answer promptly and are very helpful.
The room was very small, but lovely, clean, good value and had all the facilities we needed. The bed was quite small too, though I don’t think a larger one would have fit. The fan was a nice extra since the windows didn’t open much. The shower was a good size with good water pressure, and the hotel is right in the centre, within walking distance of everything. We couldn’t get into the building with the code I’d been given, so I called for help. Customer service were kind and did their best, but then I was put through to the manager. He was incredibly rude from the moment he answered and gave me no help at all. He clearly didn’t care. We’d booked the night to celebrate our engagement, and having it spoiled like that was the last thing I wanted. I shouldn’t have been spoken to that way, so unfortunately I can’t give this place a higher rating.
The place was spotless, and the shower was good. The location was great too. But the room had no windows, and the dark decor made it feel a bit like a dungeon. It was okay for one night, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer because it felt very claustrophobic. The bed seemed small for such a big room.
