Breakfast was first rate, and the location couldn’t be better for a visit to Harrogate. This is a very traditional b and b, with great facilities, everything very clean, and lovely hosts who are right on top of any request or enquiry. If I had to find something to fault, I’d have liked more water pressure in the shower. It didn’t really detract from the stay, though, as the other facilities were so good. I’d recommend it to anyone and would certainly come back next time I’m in or around Harrogate, if they’ll have me!

The breakfast was excellent, plentiful and tasty. The fruit melange, made with nine different fruits, is a must. The vegetarian breakfast was filling and the sausages were so tasty. On the second day we couldn’t manage that much, so we had simple poached and scrambled eggs on toast instead. Both were perfect. Some people might find ordering the night before annoying, but we were happy to support the effort to reduce food waste. We spent a weekend at The Dales and thoroughly enjoyed it. Chris the owner greeted us and sorted parking straight away. Our rooms were spacious, clean and impeccable when we arrived. There was tea, coffee, plenty of linen and towels. Our bathroom, for Room 1 on the first floor, was separate, large and carpeted. It still felt private, though technically someone could walk past, I guess. We were fine with the setup as long as people were sensible. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were warm and private. There’s a shared TV room on the ground floor beside the dining room. Room 4 on the second floor is a utility room with an iron, microwave, fridge and other things. Chris was attentive and helpful. We didn’t see her partner, but they were available if needed, though we didn’t need anything. The location is ideal, right opposite the park for kids and the Japanese Garden for a stroll. You can walk to Betty's in 10 minutes, or reach the centre in 15 minutes at most. Great service, decent rooms and an amazing breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

The park right outside was my favorite part, with all those trees and a quiet street around it. Chris was lovely and easy to chat with, and the room was spacious, clean, and peaceful. Such a great stay, well worth the price.

The stairs up to the front door and bedrooms are really steep, so this B+B wouldn't work for anyone with mobility problems. Our room itself was neat and clean. Breakfast was just okay, and even with a time slot we waited about 20 minutes for the food. The fried eggs were burnt around the edges and hard as bullets on both mornings. You only get one slice of toast, and they don't ask whether you want white or brown. To order another, we had to wait for the owner to come back. The owners didn't really chat or interact with guests, and neither of them came out to say goodbye when we left.

The room was the standout: airy and roomy, decorated nicely, spotless, and with a lovely big queen-sized bed. It was a good spot for the park, with an entrance nearby, and an easy walk down the hill into town and back up again. Breakfast was freshly made from the order we gave the night before, using good ingredients. I enjoyed the fresh fruit and yoghurt. At first I wondered why there was only one egg, but they seem to start with a smaller serving to avoid waste. The hosts were happy to bring me another egg and more toast, and I'm sure they would've made beans if I'd asked. I read a complaint about the eggs, but these were just right for me, runny yolks without an uncooked wobbly top and only a little texture underneath. My wife's vegetarian sausage was decent too and held its own against my regular meat one. Thanks from Chris and Sonal.
