Travelodge Harrogate West Park

There really wasn't anything to dislike about our stay. The room was a little small, but not too bad. The staff and service were good, and everything was clean. We paid less than £100 for two nights, with breakfast one morning. What's not to like?

The staff were really friendly, and the room felt fairly new. In the bathroom, though, the fan didn't work, the sink plug was stuck shut, and the shelf was very loose. We also ate dinner and chose the two-course meal deal. The desserts were the highlight, since the mains were disappointing, with some items missing from their descriptions and the food not very hot. It's a great place to stay, just a short walk from the centre.

The breakfast was decent and well stocked, and the staff were cheerfully helpful. My room was clean and reasonably quiet, though the shower base had some brown marks that washed off easily. There isn't free guest parking, but two council car parks are nearby, one open air and one multi-storey. The multi-storey shuts overnight, though the hotel key card provides access. I used the outdoor one, so I can't say how that works. Since the hotel was on offer when I booked, it made for a very good stay, with the usual Travelodge experience otherwise.

We stayed in room 313, which has one of the best wheelchair accessible layouts I've come across. It was completely quiet when we turned in early before our 2am drive to LBA airport. Travelodge Tower Street is in a perfect spot, with West park car park opposite. It was free for us as blue badge holders, though the spaces felt a bit tight for our WAV wheelchair accessible vehicle. A traffic warden was pleasant and gave us tips on places to go. Breakfast was lovely, but the steak and ale pie was a letdown, very hard and with hardly any filling. We'll definitely come back.
