The pub is so cosy, the food comes in good portions, and the staff are lovely and helpful. Their calamari is the best around, too. There are beautiful walking trails just a short walk away, so we left the car at The Bear until checkout. I really liked having breakfast in a hamper in the room with a mini fridge, especially for an early walk when we could take it along. The room details made a difference: individual heating, curtains that keep the light out, quality tea and lovely bed linen. We first stayed here 10 years ago, when it was The Anchor Inn. After the change of hands and refurbishment, we hoped it would still be as good. The Winnie The Poo theme is lovely, and the furnishings and modern shower rooms have made it even better while keeping that cosy pub BnB feel. We've stayed at 4 and 5 star spa hotels, but this is still my favourite. It's just so comfortable and cosy.

The weather was so good that we spent plenty of time in the beer garden, and parking was no trouble. We stayed two nights in the "Pooh" room, where the bed was really comfortable and the room was very clean, with a kettle, fridge and TV. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. They brought breakfast to our room each evening for the next morning, which meant we could eat whenever we liked. The cereal, fruit, juice and choice of croissant made a really nice breakfast. We had a lovely time and would happily come back.

We had a lovely, comfortable room with its own temperature control, and the continental breakfast in a basket was delicious. There was a great range of food, including lots of gluten-free choices, and everything tasted delicious and looked great when it arrived. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing felt like too much to ask. A fantastic place to stay. I'd gladly visit again and recommend it.

The beer was excellent, and the staff were friendly. We stopped briefly for a refreshment break on the way back from Hever and enjoyed a chat with them. The food looked delightful, and I'd have liked to try it, but it was too early in the day and we needed to get going. It looks well worth coming back for.

It's a yes from me. We had lunch and drinks here, with a good choice of drinks, fresh, well-prepared food and exemplary service. A lovely spot.
