County Hotel

The buffet breakfast was great, and there was private parking. My room was quiet, with lots of wardrobe space and a comfortable seating area. The shower was powerful and reached its set temperature straight away, and there was a nice big TV.

The staff were lovely, and the location works well if you're travelling around. The room was the main problem. When it's busy, you hear every footstep, and the ceiling felt as though it might come down, which made me too anxious to sleep. The shower pressure was weak and it never got hot enough. The toilet was cramped, wedged behind the shower. With the noise and lumpy mattress, light sleepers are unlikely to get any rest.

We had a nice short overnight stay, and the staff even let us take a drink up to our room after we'd missed the bar's 10pm last orders. Our son and his partner brought their dog, and the owner thoughtfully set a table aside for us in the bar area at breakfast, away from the main seating. Breakfast was self-service, with plenty available, including cereal and pastries. The cooked food was hot and well done. The rooms were perfectly functional, and we found the mattress and pillows just right. The hotel is well placed for getting around West Wales, and guests can use the rear car park for a nightly fee, still much cheaper than a multi-storey. It's beside a very busy interchange, so expect some traffic noise if you leave the window open. Those were small things and didn't spoil our stay. We'd definitely use it again.

It's a 2 star place, and the rooms are small but adequate. I didn't see any staff, but the bed was good and I slept well.
