Gill and Jock made us feel right at home and served a delicious breakfast. My husband and I had a really relaxing stay in the Shepards Hut, enjoying the views from its beautiful countryside setting. Hawick is only a short drive away.

We rented the whole house for four days, rather than booking it as a B&B. The owner was helpful and flexible about what we needed, and even let us use the larder. The kitchen was fully equipped, the decor was tasteful, and the spacious rooms were lovely, most with their own bathrooms. It’s a great base, with beautiful scenery nearby, about 45 minutes from the Grey mares tail walk and just over an hour’s drive from Edinburgh.

The views and rooms were lovely, and the location is beautiful. It’s a little way out and was hard to find, though. WiFi was available but didn’t work. Breakfast was OK.
