If you're on the Cotswold Way or close by, this is a lovely place to stop. The cafe is in the Fox Inn, and yes, it's open. Google has it wrong.

Staff were really helpful. I stopped for a coffee and fruit cake on a long bike ride, just £5, then called back for a late-afternoon pint on the way home. They'd run out of real ale or bitter by then.

The Fox had a great atmosphere on Friday night, and the friendly staff had plenty to choose from at the bar. I really enjoyed listening to local artist Max Green play.

Our room was quiet and comfortable, with plenty of hot water, and breakfast had enough on offer to set us up for the day, even though the choice was limited. The couple running the pub were new and still getting established when we stayed for one night while walking part of the Cotswold Way. They gave us a really warm welcome. There wasn't a chef yet, as they expected food service to start the following week, so they drove us to another pub three miles away for dinner and came back to collect us later, along with another guest. Couldn't fault the hospitality, and I'd stay again.
