The room was spacious and cosy, with a lovely view and a great bathroom. It was quiet and comfortable, so I slept brilliantly both nights. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Somerville House is a fabulous place to stay, and I’ll do my best to return someday.

We were cycling through the area, and storing our bikes securely was no problem. The staff were really friendly, and the room at the top of the house had lovely views across the city. It’s a quiet place just outside the centre, and breakfast was good too.

Our sat nav dropped out and came back with different details, so we ended up at the wrong place very late, after they’d locked up for the night. The lovely woman there opened the door, welcomed us in, and gave us the right information for the hotel we needed. We got there with two minutes to spare. I can’t thank them enough for being so kind when we were stressed.

We arrived before check-in, but the staff let us park and pick up our keys since we were going hiking and expected to return after check-in had closed. Somerville House is a lovely red brick building with a pretty, spacious garden. We had a warm welcome, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous, freshly made with good quality local ingredients. Before going out in the evening, we sat in the garden and enjoyed locally produced cider from the honesty bar. The centre of Hereford is an easy 10-minute walk away. We had a really enjoyable stay, and I’d happily return and recommend it.

We really enjoyed our stay at Somerville House. Communication before we arrived was good, and the hosts were warm and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, with a great outlook over the large garden, and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with gluten-free choices available. Highly recommended.
