The Knoll House

The rooms are basic, but clean, warm and comfortable. The staff are lovely, the food is really tasty, and it’s easy to relax and feel at home. It’s friendly for kids and dogs, and the location is brilliant. We made the mistake of going to the nearest pub by the Pig last night, and the food there was a letdown compared with what you get here. This is a lovely, homely hotel. It’s our second night, and we’ll come back. Just what the doctor ordered.

The sea view was distant, but lovely, and the grounds were fantastic for dog walks. We stayed two nights in a sea view room for my wife’s birthday and had a really enjoyable time. The restaurant and bar staff were super friendly, especially with our dog. Reception staff were nominal. The food was pleasant and enjoyable, though not exceptional. The atmosphere feels warm and nostalgic, and grew on us over time. We’d come again. Thanks for a great time. David

Walking in feels like getting a hug from the hotel. I love the nostalgia, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were well appointed, and everywhere was lovely and clean. It’s an old building, so it has its quirks, but the service was good, the food excellent, and the location lovely. What a gem. We’ll be back.

Breakfast was spot on for taste, choice and quantity. Thanks to Andrew and the whole team at this important time! We had a great night recently, starting with a warm welcome from the lovely Rosalind, who showed us what we needed to know. Our room was very cosy, with a really comfortable bed and a nice big bathroom. The hotel, grounds and amenities are excellent and worth exploring. We hope to return sometime in the not too distant future. Highly recommend!
