The rooms were warm and comfortable, and the guys at the pub were welcoming and friendly. Steve and Callum were especially helpful. It’s a great base for hiking the peaks and centrally placed for the other restaurants in Hayfield. I had a great time.

I’m a little biased because this is my local, but Graham, Julia, and everyone else who looks after us are perfect hosts, and the service can’t be faulted 😁. It’s right in the village near the bus station, so it’s a natural stop on the way home. A great place for any sport, though get there early. There’s a toasty log burner in the cooler months, and occasional live music. Beachcombers are our favourites. I genuinely can’t recommend the Kinder highly enough.

For the price we paid, I really can’t fault it. The rooms were clean and warm, there was plenty of hot water, and the manager was friendly. He cooked us a fantastic full English breakfast. Thank you!

The pub was warm and cosy, with a lovely fire that was very welcome after a long, wet walk. The staff were amazing, and it was really handy for the campsite where I was staying. The nachos could’ve done with a bit more cheese!
