The grounds look tidy, with well-kept lawns and surroundings, and the rooms and shared areas are kept very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful, with a pleasant mix of warmth and professionalism. The conference centre has separate hotel and conference facilities, all equipped to the stated standard. There are plenty of board games in the common rooms, and the fitness centre has lots to offer, on a par with some proper gyms. The nearby fields are lovely for hiking or jogging. The Cedar Bar is comfortable, with pool billiards and virtual golf, which is especially fun in a group and a must for company events. I’d love to return.

The rooms really let this place down. Mine was musty, cramped, shabby and poorly maintained, with barely enough space for a suitcase. They’re worn out and badly need renovating. It’s a shame, since the conference spaces and public areas are newly refurbished, the staff are great, the food is okay, and the bar is great.

Breakfast was good, though on Sunday it ended quite early and they ran out of food. The coffee machine was okay and the staff were nice. Our room was on the small side but had a mini balcony, and the TV let us watch YouTube. There was also a snooker table. Some facilities, including the sauna, were closed due to Covid. I was with a large group, but the place was peaceful and set in lovely surroundings. There are good places to eat in the village.

The room was cramped and noisy, with a loud fan running all night, so bring ear plugs. The conference room was good, but cold enough that most of my colleagues kept their jackets on. Service was friendly and the food was good, though the coffee was nasty. There’s a nice pub nearby.

A good location, with clean, comfortable rooms and lovely grounds. It’s a good place for conferences and events, and the food is reasonable. Worth a visit.
