Abbey Lodge

Getting around was easy from here, with High Wycombe and the station close by. The rear car park is off the street; it was full each night, but worked fine. Even so, I wouldn’t stay again. It served a purpose, but wasn’t comfortable enough for a proper rest, especially for what it cost. The place felt worn and tired, though it seemed they were trying to make the best of it. My room was hot in warm weather and poorly ventilated. The blind didn’t work well with the window. The bed linen was okay, but nobody checked the room or provided service during my four-day stay. The bathroom was cramped and dirty, with little room to move. The towel was barely bigger than a hand towel, and there was no bath mat. Breakfast was technically provided, but the selection was so limited it wasn’t worth having.

We’ve stayed here with the family three times now, and everyone has been so welcoming and helpful that I’m already looking forward to coming back. Our room was very clean, and the top family room now has a microwave. My son was really pleased with it. Everything is so close to the hotel too 😊

It was just as advertised, with friendly people and no surprises. Some of the criticism here puzzles me. For the price, I don’t know why people expect a luxury hotel.

For a one-night business trip, the price and location were perfect. I slept peacefully, had a hot shower, then coffee and a bun in the morning. I’ll come back.
