The homemade ginger beer was delicious, and the place itself is lovely, with a beautiful setting and a cosy, warm feel. At lunch, though, my sole was so salty I couldn't taste the fish, and the sauce with the steak was just as salty. Service was disappointing: staff were friendly, but spent a lot of time chatting and didn't pay much attention. We ordered drinks twice and they forgot both times. I'd recommend giving it a try, and hope you have a better experience.

We were made to feel so welcome, and all the little details showed how much care and effort everyone puts in. The food was outstanding and the service really great. It was our first stay, overnight during the May 2026 heatwave, but definitely won't be our last. It had a bit of a “The Pig” feel. Well done, everyone. We'll be back soon!

On a really hot day, they kindly moved us into two rooms instead of the family loft room, and didn't charge extra. We were so grateful. The property was stunning, the food delicious, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. We loved everything about the place and will definitely come back one day.

We were disappointed by our visit to The Beckford Arms and, as first-time customers, didn't feel particularly welcome or valued. We won't be returning. We'd booked a restaurant table the day before, then called ahead to apologise and say we'd be late. When we arrived, we were offered only a table in the bar or drawing room, not the restaurant booking we'd expected. The barman was polite enough, but service felt distant. My wife's glass was empty several times, and staff walked past without offering another drink or checking if we needed anything. We both had burgers. They were edible, but average and forgettable, especially for the price and reputation. Maybe regulars have a different experience.

We got lost trying to find Quarry Wood for a wedding and were in a pickle. Harry explained that taxis had to be prebooked, which us city folk aren't used to with our ubers. Then he kindly drove us to the wedding venue, which completely changed how our day went. We wanted to thank him, so I'm leaving this review. Next time we're in the area, we'll come to the pub for a drink and a meal to say thanks properly.
