Redcoats Farmhouse Hotel

It was perfect for a special treat. The restaurant's atmosphere and setting were lovely, the food was nice, and the attentive service exceeded our expectations. You really do get what you pay for here. Anita, our server, was especially helpful and friendly throughout, a perfect host. What more can I say!

The burger was spot on, juicy and well seasoned, with fresh toppings and great buns. One of the better ones I've had locally. Service was friendly and efficient the whole time, and never felt rushed. There's easy, free parking, and the place feels very family friendly, with cosy surroundings and outdoor areas. Great overall service, and I'd like to come back and stay one day. The Farmhouse at Redcoats is a charming historic place in the Hertfordshire countryside, in a beautiful 15th-century building with lovely gardens and a relaxed, welcoming feel. There's plenty of room for families and a menu to suit everyone. I'm already thinking about coming back, and next time I'd love to stay overnight in one of their characterful rooms. Highly recommend for a relaxed meal out!

There’s so much character at Redcoats, and the whole hotel felt warm and festive. We had The Old Kitchen to ourselves for lunch, which made it feel especially cosy. Our meal was delicious and everyone in our party enjoyed theirs. From booking through to the visit, the staff were welcoming and helpful. Our waitress, whose name I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember, maybe Fem or Fern, looked after us brilliantly. I’d happily recommend Redcuats, and I’m already thinking about coming back.

The chef went to a lot of trouble to make a delicious dinner that worked for my husband’s specific food intolerances, and did it with real kindness, skill and enthusiasm. We were there to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary, and all the staff were lovely. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.
