The Boathouse Hotel

We had room 18 with a sea view, and it was spotless and very comfortable. After a long day, it was nice to eat and have a drink without heading elsewhere. The menu had plenty of choice and the food was really good quality. Service felt warm and welcoming. We used the hotel as a base for the Holyhead ferry and found it great value. Thank you, we'd highly recommend it.

We'd paid upfront for a private event, and I was led to believe the conservatory would be ours for the day. They'd also booked a coach trip for the conservatory at the same time, but I was told it would be gone before we arrived. They turned up late during our event, while waitresses kept coming through with plates and holidaymakers tried to get drinks at the bar among my family. It was honestly disheartening and very stressful.

We had an amazing weekend away at the boathouse. For an early Valentine’s Day surprise, I asked if they could help me do something special, and they went above and beyond: the room was decorated, with wine and chocolates waiting there. We'll definitely visit again before too long.

We enjoyed every minute of our overnight stay at The boathouse. The owners really went above and beyond to make it memorable. At my partner's request, they even went out to buy some extra gifts, which he paid for when we arrived. Our room was beautiful, warm, comfortable, had a nice view, and had everything we needed. We had both dinner and breakfast, and enjoyed the food. The area is out of season right now, but it's a great base for North and South Stack, with a lovely few-mile harbour and coastal walk. There's parking on site and the small town is a few minutes away on foot. Everyone, staff and guests, was friendly, and we couldn't fault The boathouse. We saw its two-star rating on other sites and honestly don't understand it. We'll be back when the weather and season are better. Thanks to all the staff 😊
