Premier Inn Redhill Reigate

The bed was very comfortable, and the service was great. It’s a bit out of town, and the hallways creak. The TV has a handy panel of inputs, including HDMI, though I didn’t get to test it. It could be useful for a Nintendo Switch or Chromecast. The shower was uncomfortable because the water kept cutting in and out, especially at the cold tap. Someone needs to look at the booster pump, or maybe the expansion vessel.

The staff were very nice, both the person who checked us in and the security man at the desk when we left. We picked this place for its location near Gatwick and the Beefeater pub next door, where we could get something to eat. It was our first stay here. The corridors could use a good vacuum and the rooms feel tired and could do with repainting. We still slept well, as we usually do at Premier Inns, and would stay again if flying from Gatwick.

The inn itself feels like an older property, though Premier rooms are much as you’d expect from the brand. The restaurant is in the neighbouring Beefeater, and that predictability is one of the things I like about Premier. Watch out for the large sleeping-police-style hump just outside reception, which you have to cross to reach the car park. It could be dangerous for a low car, even if you crawl over it. I wouldn’t stay here with a low vehicle.

The staff were helpful, and my room was warm, cozy and had a good outlook. It was clean and tidy, including the bathroom, and there’s a very large free car park. The place is starting to show its age, though. I’d only choose it for a stay of a few days.
