Curious customers asking how we’d found our way to the pub added to the warm, welcoming feel. The Fiveways might have passed us by if we hadn’t been on a pub crawl, but we were glad to discover it. We had a fantastic dinner and a pint that rounded off a great visit.

The staff treat people with disabilities, including Autism, with respect and dignity, which is good. When I go in, it’s not normally busy, though I’ve never been on a Friday night or at the weekend. I love pubs like Manor Farm, but it’s also great to visit a proper old pub now and then. They have a fab variety of alcoholic and soft drinks. From what I believe, food is only served at certain times.

The staff are friendly and get on really well with the locals. The beer garden catches the sun all day, though some outdoor heaters would make it nicer until drinking indoors is possible again.

There’s lots of room outside for summer, and the staff are welcoming. Fiveways is a big community pub with a decent range of beer, lager and cider, including John Smith's bitter. I didn't see any cask conditioned real ale, though.

The beef was dry, the gravy watery, and the cabbage so undercooked it felt raw. Even the mash seemed processed. For £13.50, the portion was something I’d give my ten-month-old. Worst Sunday dinner I’ve ever had, and far too expensive for how dry and disgusting it was 🤢
