The Three Horseshoes sits in a historic area, in a pretty village with lots of old houses. There’s a large garden with outdoor seating as well as room inside. It’s close to the National Trust Houghton Mill and riverside walks. We only stopped for drinks, but the menu looked good.

A great pub and inn near the entrance to Broughton Mill, well worth a visit. It’s also bike friendly.

That roast dinner was as good as any we’ve had in at least five years, maybe longer. The pork was cooked beautifully, and the vegetables were done but still crisp. The big Yorkshire puddings were really tasty. It reminded me of my mother’s cooking, and she was the perfect cook.

It’s a well located pub with really friendly people. Still, I was disappointed to see mass produced beer from Cornwall on offer when there’s so much good ale available nearby.
