Crazy Fox House - From 600 Per Night

We found this place about an hour from home and came for a weekend to get some much-needed rest. It was quiet and peaceful, with lovely walks nearby and a village shop next door that had what we needed. There are local pubs within walking distance of the Fox. The rooms were comfortable, clean and tidy, and parking was easy. Just right for reading, sleeping and talking without interruptions. We’ll be back.

I’d give zero stars if I could. The place looked nice, but the stay was awful. For both nights I woke around 5am freezing because the heating wasn’t working, and I slept terribly. There was no hot water either. It was temporarily fixed after I reported it on the first morning, but the same problem came back the next night. Renting a place without working heat or hot water in cold weather is completely unacceptable. Instead of a comfortable visit, we had two miserable, sleepless nights. Very disappointing.

Our room was comfortable, very clean and tastefully furnished, and the pre-arrival communication was great. This is a fabulous boutique B&B in a pretty village. Breakfast was lovely, with fresh fruit, juices and pastries, and there’s an honesty bar for drinks and snacks. Two pubs serving food are just a short walk away.

Emma brought breakfast and freshly brewed coffee up to our room the morning after our wedding, and those thoughtful touches really made the stay. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was so comfortable it felt like sleeping on a pillow. After breakfast we went for a walk and enjoyed the view from the bridge near the hotel, a lovely start to our first morning as a married couple. We stayed at the Crazy fox boutique on the evening of 20th April 2024, after getting married nearby at Rackleys. Booking was straightforward. I called to ask about arriving late and dropping our bag off on the wedding morning, and Tina was amazing on the phone, helping sort out the details. On the day, Emma texted to say she was there, showed me how to use the keypad and helped bring our bags to the room. I’ve never had such attentive service from a hotel. The hotel is lovely, the service outstanding and breakfast incredible. You won’t regret booking this fabulous little boutique hotel.
