Bear Lodge - Glamping

We had a great view from the tent, and the bears even appeared in the distance. Bring binoculars if you’re hoping for a closer look. Just keep snacks off the decking, though, because the seagulls will steal them. The beds were comfortable, the tent was well equipped, and it was nicely heated. We could have lit the wood burner if we’d needed extra warmth. We also ate at the Bear Lodge restaurant and really enjoyed the food.

The big open-plan living and dining room is a lovely place for the family to sit together around the fire. There’s plenty of wood and fire starters, and the wood burner is easy to get going. It really makes the lodge for me. The beds are cosy, with thick, warm covers, and all the wood gives the place a warm feel. There’s extra electric heating for winter too. The bathroom and shower are huge.

The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff were pleasant, and the food was delicious. I left very full, though I forgot to take any pictures of it.

The food was awesome, and pre-ordering worked well for the first two courses. We had good service in a great location, and a few beers too. The chef was the only person around who I think was just hairy. No bears, though. They miscounted our group by two even though we’d pre-ordered. Sorting out the food delivery was fun when people wanted different options, and dessert was a surprise rather than what we’d ordered.
