My wife and I had a great stay. The kitchen, showers and room were excellent, and there's a large, comfortable sitting room. The hostel sits right on the shore beside a small sandy beach, with fantastic views. Karl and Lorna keep everything in great shape and were extremely welcoming and helpful. Many thanks to them both, this is the best hostel I've stayed at in Scotland.

We had a great experience at this clean, friendly hostel and would stay again if we get back to Islay. There are several places to eat dinner within walking distance, which makes it a good spot for a few nights. It is a bit far from many other things on the island.

The beach is right outside, so the views are incredible, and the pub, shop and restaurants are close by. Inside, there are nice communal spaces and facilities. I stayed in a clean, well-equipped four-person dorm, and Lorna couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming.

Lorna and Karl are the most helpful hostel managers you could wish for, and this is a lovely youth hostel with a good kitchen, lounge and rooms. There are only eight rooms, so it can book up completely in summer, even midweek.
