The views through the big windows facing the water were stunning, and the house is within walking distance of the shore and all sorts of Bowmore spots, including Peatzeria, Lochmore Hotel, the Bowmore Hotel, the co-op, church, and pharmacy. We came as a group of 11 and filled all the rooms. Allison and Andrew welcomed us with a dram and a printed itinerary, and they were both incredibly kind and accommodating. Every breakfast was delicious and generously portioned, even the “lighter” option, with a breakfast dram as well as the welcome dram at check-in. Andrew was entertaining and interesting, and both hosts got along really well with our guide Moray. I only wish I’d taken more photos.

We had beautiful sunsets from our room, and the generous breakfast had lots to choose from. There was even a dram of Scotch with breakfast, which my husband was delighted to discover as a new tradition. We stayed a couple of nights and absolutely loved it. The host and hostess were incredibly kind, and I loved the atmosphere. They really went out of their way to make us comfortable. If we return to Islay, we’d definitely stay here again.

I had to cut my trip short and missed the second night and another lovely breakfast because the ferry was suddenly cancelled. The host went above and beyond to help with the logistical mess and make sure I got safely to the mainland, and I can’t thank him enough. The stay itself was brilliant too: a very welcoming host, a spotless room, and a fantastic home-cooked breakfast. I’d love to come back. Highly recommended.

Bowmore House Bed and Breakfast is in a great spot in Bowmore, with food and amenities just a short walk away. The Harbour Room had lovely views, and the room was large and spacious. Andrew and Alison were perfect hosts, and breakfast was divine. We were so pleased with the stay that we’re already making plans to return.

Andrew knew so much about whisky distilling on the Isle of Islay, and his recommendations helped us enjoy every minute on this lovely, unique island. He also managed to change our return ferry booking when we couldn't arrange it ourselves. Nothing seemed too much trouble for him. The room at Bowmore House was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast with a wee dram was a great start to each day's activities. We can't thank you enough for making our Islay holiday so memorable.
