5 Glenconon Bed and Breakfast

We got great views of the northern lights, and Shirley, the other guests, my wife and I even got some photos. How did she manage to arrange that? The room was comfortable, and Shirley was a welcoming hostess. It’s a very friendly bed and breakfast close to the Uig Ferry Terminal.

The room was small, the walls were thin, and we kept hearing doors slam. If you book the single room, there’s no attached toilet. Getting there without a car is a hassle, with a long uphill walk. Our host seemed average compared with the host our friends had at another B&B down the road. We barely saw her except when she served breakfast. I’m not sure how the place maintained such a good rating.

I had a room with a huge, sunny window, and it was lovely to sit in front of it and enjoy the warmth. The rooms are small but just right for one person, and everything was clean and tidy. The accommodation is cozy, in a quiet, private area with a lovely garden, only a short walk from the main street. The owner is a lovely, helpful lady who served us a beautiful breakfast. We had dinner at a nearby Hotel, and it was great.

Neal was there to welcome us when we arrived, and he was so kind. He suggested places to eat by the harbor and helped with directions and ideas for things to do on the Isle of Skye. He really went above and beyond, and made us a filling breakfast too. Highly recommend staying with them!
